Concept Art – A Virtual Portrait of Comfort
Concept Description
We created this virtual sofa to highlight some of the most useful aspects of computer aided architectural design for a short presentation we pitched to a large furniture manufacturer. We were able to use mock-up design plans to create a 3D pre-visualization that enabled the audience to view this concept in 3D space, before creating a physical 3D model. Later, this same 3D design can be easily modified on-the-fly to test aesthetic design changes and maintain perspective on the final prototype. Finally, CAD drawings in this capacity can be used to support detailed representations for websites and replace costly on-site photography. This is especially beneficial for designers that methodically employ continued improvement to their product-line, as CAD drawings can be efficiently updated with unlimited design changes, without having to recreate scenes in physical space.
